MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, August 16

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood:The slate is wildly different between the two sites, and my primary pool will be completely different as well. On FD, I will be heavily invested in the Phillies, Reds, Royals, and Yankees, along with the Mets and Padres. On DK, I think we need to be more concerned with ownership on the Mets and Padres, so I’ll be spreading out much sooner there. My lean is more toward mini stacks and 3-3-2 type of builds on DK if not stacking the Mets or Padres. With pitching, I’ll focus on a 4-player pool on DK, with Spencer Schwellenbach, Spencer Arrighetti, Sean Manaea, and Gavin Williams. On FD, I will add Gerrit Cole and Paul Skenes to the top of that group.

Dean78904:Arrighetti, Schwellenbach… any Spencer will do, as the Spencer “Brothers” are my top 2 SPs on the slate. I will be HR hunting with the Mets despite the ballpark, as I just really want to pick on Roddery Munoz. I like the Padres plenty, but the plan now is to come in under the field. I’ll likely play the Padres in 3-3-2 type lineups as a way to be a little different with my lineup iterations.

ebeimfohr:Other than fading Coors Field, I don’t think I’ll be too far off the beaten path with most of my player pool. I will be looking to flip builds by punting at pitcher and jamming in some extra elite bats. Or in lineups in which I have the popular pitcher(s) with some popular bats, I will be adding some super low-owned Astros bats to create that leverage off of the super chalky builds and stack combos.

TJ Zwarych:It’s an absolutely terrible slate for pitchers, so I’m going to take a hard stand on Spencer Arrighetti and hit the lock button in my 150 max build. I’ll mix in Schwellenbach, Burnes, Manaea, and Williams alongside him, but Arrighetti will be priority number one.

Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
