Harry Styles - Golden Lyrics Meaning
anonymous Apr 13th 2020 !⃝I honestly think this is one of the saddest songs in his new album. As a larrie, I think this is about Louis but honestly could be about anyone. However, I think this song is about wanting to come out/express your sexuality and yourself to the world but your significant other being scared.
The main part for me that proves this is the lines
"I know that you're scared
Because I'm so open"
Harry is becoming so open about himself and finally expressing who he really is, but the person he wants to be with is too scared. (Louis)
Harry talks about his significant other being so golden as in they're the light and the person that makes him happy.
What makes this song so sad (for me anyway) is that harry talks about not wanting to be alone. He needs this person and wants to be with them as he is afraid of being alone. Loving this person is the antidote and will fix everything wrong in his life.
Being told you cannot be with someone you love is what this song refers to which is SO upsetting especially for anyone who this has ever happened to. You can relate to how harry would feel not being able to be with someone who makes him feel so much joy.
This can obviously be interpreted anyway it doesn't necessarily have to be about harry and Louis, but from the information, we know about harry's past relationships it seems that it's about harry and Louis being scared to open up and be with him.
