Kane Tanaka was considered the longest living individual following the death of Chiyo Miyako on 22 July in the year 2018 until her own death at the age of 119 years, 107 days. Kane was one of the oldest verified Japanese people and the second oldest verified person all across the globe.
Kane Tanaka’s early childhood was during the last years of the Meiji period, which ended up when she was nine years old in the year 1912. Kane got married to one of her cousins, Hideo Tanaka in the year 1922, with whom she had two sons and two daughters when she was aged 19 years.
After World War II took place, the couple continued working in the store. Kane Tanaka converted got to Christianity under the influence of pastors stationed in the United States military. Her husband died in the year 1993 at the age of 90 years, after 71 years of their marriage.
She was born on Jan 2, 1903 and died owing to health problems with her having even suffered from COVID-19. She was in and out of the hospital for treatment on her health till her time of death.

“My favorite things are fizzy drinks (especially Coca-Cola), but also coffee and chocolate,” she said when talking about her most liked things to eat and drink.
“Hakata ramen, motsu nabe (offal stew), mentaiko (fish roe), mizutaki (chicken hotpot), the yatai food stalls — the list goes on and on,” among the list of other things she included in her diet.

Kane Tanaka had numerous major illnesses and was also infected with paratyphoid fever with her adopted daughter at the age of 35 years. Kane underwent pancreatic cancer surgery at the age of 45 years. In the year 2006, she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and underwent surgery when she was 103 years old.
On the 19th of September in the year 2020, Kane broke the record of the longest-lived Japanese person in the world, as well as the third-oldest person in the world. She made this record by surpassing Nabi Tajima’s age of 117 years, 260 days. On the 10th of April in 2022, Tanaka surpassed the lifespan of Sarah Knauss to become one of the second oldest verified people in the world.
Kane Tanaka died on 19th April recently in 2022 at the age of 119 years, and 107 days in Fukuoka, Fukuoka Prefecture in Japan. Her cremation was attended by a lot many people as she was quite popular because of her age.
